Sarah Jane Stewart is retired from non-profit administration and consulting work. Her experience has been in community health and development. She was the founding administrator of Blue Ridge Medical Center in Nelson County, VA 1984-1994 and consulted on local start-up projects for community centers, health and dental centers, and a history museum. In 2015, she retired from 10 years at the Virginia Health Care Foundation where she was a Program Officer in charge of the Medication Assistance Grant Program.
 

She now resides with her husband on a mountain bordering the Blue Ridge Parkway in Ashe County, and enjoys hiking, yoga, baking and cooking, growing flowers, and reading.
 

Education: BA in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Master of
Public Administration from Auburn University at Montgomery.
