Tanya Robinson grew up in Ashe County. She graduated from Ashe County High School in 2003 with Honors. She went on to attend Strayer University. There she obtained a MBA with a concentration in global finance. She has also completed coursework in Network Security. She currently participates with Down Home, NC, the Democratic Party, and the Democratic Women of Ashe. She is a wife and mother to a 13 year old son. She left Ashe County in 2003 to see our nation's capital and the Beltway. She returned to her Ashe County roots in 2019 as a full time resident.

Tanya came on the scene of politics in Ashe County in 2019, but has been heavily involved since 2022 with her work in activism and voter education in the county. She is constantly seeking to learn and expand her knowledge of the realm of politics, especially in the local area. She is passionate about equity, justice, diversity, and inclusion.

Since becoming the First Vice President of the Democratic Women of Ashe, she has planned events with guest speakers with success and expanded her knowledge on a variety of topics. She will continue to be a force to be reckoned with here in local politics!
